3rd time lucky for SCAR - mostly

After 2 previous reschedules due to significant weather events in 2024, SCAR finally happened!

Almost in BarringtonBLITZ fashion, only days before the start, the prerun was warm and sunny, even Gandin Gully was dry.

Then it happened! a forecast for solid rain with a constantly moving daily target and rain fall predicted of up to 80mm.

With a hint of anxiety, constant monitoring of the radar, some slight reroutes allowed us to avoid most of it on Day1 and 2, then after heavy rain and strong winds late in the night, Day3 was called off, which turned out to be a very smart decision.

Changes ahead for SCAR

For 5 years SCAR has delivered superb BigBike trails on the NSW Southcoast, along with some serious weather events too.

2026 will see lots of new trails, new start and finish locations and a deeper look in to the magic of the NSW southern region.

With the addition of the 2Day BatemansBLITZ, riders will have the opportunity to enjoy all the existing trails of previous SCAR Rides and much more of the NSW Southcoast.
